Managing Parts and Services

Add, import and maintain your parts and services list, and keep it in sync with QuickBooks.

Written by Laszlo Malinovszky

Parts and services are the line items your technicians add to jobs. A clean list means faster work orders and correct invoices.

Add a part or service

  1. Open the Parts tab.

  2. Click New (or Add new item on a job) and choose whether it's a part or a service.

  3. Fill in the name, price and description and save.

Import from QuickBooks

  1. Parts tab → arrow next to New → Import from QuickBooks.

  2. Items are matched by name.

If you use QuickBooks, treat it as the master list: change names and descriptions there and they come across to Repair-CRM.

Part or service?

The item type decides where a line lands on the invoice. If something shows under Service but should be a Part, change its type (in QuickBooks Products & Services or in Repair-CRM) and save.

Troubleshooting / Common questions

A part doesn't show up in the search

Start typing the name or number. QuickBooks sub-items may appear only under their parent; make them standalone items if you need them on jobs.

Yellow icon on a part

It isn't linked to QuickBooks. Edit and save it once.

Don't tick Inventory on QuickBooks Simple Start

Simple Start doesn't support inventory; it causes error 5030.

Can I delete many parts at once?

There's no bulk delete. Contact support to remove unsynced or sample parts.
